“Transitioning into your first year of college is nothing that should be taken lightly. There are many moments that are unfamiliar and intimidating. Luckily for me, being a recipient of the Marcy Scholarship Fund, my first semester of college has been made much more bearable. Thanks to the multitude of resources provided to me by the Marcy Scholarship Fund, especially being provided with a mentor who genuinely has my best interest at heart and enhances my academic growth in more ways than one, my first semester of college was a success. I now feel more ready than ever for college knowing that I’ll have the Marcy Scholarship Fund by my side.”

We hosted our annual Summer Bridge Program for students with an emphasis on readiness for the Fall semester. Summer Bridge I was an in person event held at the Marcy Houses Community Center with a facilitator experienced in working with students in transition. Summer Bridge I concluded with students' family members joining us for a celebratory dinner. Summer Bridge II, held a week later via Zoom, included a College Panel with current college students or recent college graduates.
