Catherine R. Stanford

An ardent supporter of the Marcy Houses Memorial Scholarship Fund from its very inception, Mrs. Stanford has recently become the newest member of the Board. She is a former teacher of grades 6 through 12, a mentor teacher and literacy coach, high school assistant principal and also served as adjunct professor at Westchester Community College. Mrs. Stanford has served as a volunteer at the Hord Foundation which offers scholarship support for minority students and has served on the Education Committee of the United Way – participating in the review of community programs seeking financial support based on positive outcomes. In that capacity, her team was responsible for studying the budgets and achievements of over 20 programs. Mrs. Stanford earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lehman College and holds Masters degrees from Fordham University and the College of New Rochelle.
